Initial Situation
In the English seaside town of Blackpool, the annual Lightpool Festival is a cultural highlight. In 2019, the idea emerged to create an audiovisual centerpiece that weaves classical music together with immersive light art. The Empress Ballroom, a listed historic venue, was chosen to serve as the projection canvas.

Development
The project began with a jointly developed storyboard, followed by several weeks of animation work accompanied by VR-based spatial rehearsals. Twenty high-performance projectors were used to transform the historic vaulted ceiling into a stage for an orchestral choreography. The visual finale featured a digitally simulated destruction of the ceiling.
Result
Increased media attention through the innovative fusion of classical music and digital art.
